Sunny Ridge - 6PM-8:30PM - Movie Night
About this event
April 1st's Movie: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)

On a lazy Sunday afternoon, Noodle Nelson and Wolf Wilson were lounging on the boardwalk of the Broken Spur Saloon. Noodle was balancing precariously on the two rear legs of his chair, back against the wall and boots and spurs dangling just above the boardwalk boards the whole while whittling on a stick. Wolf preferred the stability of all four chair legs on the boardwalk as he fashioned a cigarette out of a small piece of paper and tobacco flakes poured from a sack he kept in a vest pocket.
While the boys were ogling some of the town's lady folk prominading down the other side of the street on their way home from chuch, Judge Henry "Hemp" Harvey stopped and greeted the boys. While chomping on the but of a nickel cigar, Henry's muttonchop whiskers and walrus looking physique made him look like a side show barker in the carnival. While exchanging pleasantries with the judge a farm wagon drawn by four mules and loaded with supplies was passing by.
Isn't that Chester Canfield driving the team and Eager Edna, a working girl from the Branch Water Saloon next to him. "Yep." Noodle answered . "And that kid is the young mexican pup that works at the livery stable." I wonder where they're headed. Judge Harvey supplied an answer. "They've been talking to that old Dine' Hosteen, Many Goats. He was telling them that the old abandoned pueblo west of Flint Mountain was a thriving community up until about 700 years ago. It was abandoned either because the people were tired of the Aztecs coming up and raiding and carrying off men, women and children to be made slaves or sacrificed on the top of their stepped temple, or, years of draught that made it impossible to grow any more corn, beans and squash. The Aztecs supposedly made off with some sacred stones used in the rain making ceremony. Many Goats thinks that if his people could get those stones back and have a ceremony and make it rain, the land would become fertile again. His people are offering $5,000 in gold to anyone who will bring back the stones. So, Chester and his party are going to give it a shot. Even though they have to travel to the fabled Aztec land of death.
"You know" Wolf interjected, "There is a movie playing Wednesday night at 6 PM at the Eden Brook theater. The movie is "Indiana Jones - Temple of Doom." The story line is similar. An archaeologist, a singer and young kid go looking for a sacred stone for some villagers in India. Movie was released in 1984 and is a Spielberg and Lucas production starring Harrison Ford and Kate Upshaw. Running time is 1 hour 58 minutes. I hear the snacks and beverages are free. I'm thinking of taking it in, I think you should too.
