Please take note of the schedule change for Cowboy Movie Night. For the months of May, June, July, and August, movies will be shown on the first Thursday of the month. In September, we will return to the first Wednesday of the month. Same location, same deal. Snacks and beverages provided.
 
Gather around men. I just got back from a trip to town to purchase supplies needed for our spring round up. It seems there are a lot of folks dissatisfied with their lives here. They are grumbling about the drought last summer, the floods this spring, rustlers, claim jumpers, sickness, lack of a school, no church, more saloons opening up and high cost of groceries and dry goods that have to be freighted out here on wagons. Well, nearly the whole town is ready to pack it in and head back east where the established cities offer more of what they are missing out here. They want to put together a wagon train and head back the way they came. It will be just as challenging going back as it was getting here so they are looking for a wagon master to lead them back.

That is the very delimma in the town called Prosperity that is facing the folks featured in this week's movie. A town full of people are fed up with life in the west and want to go back to the safety and security of the eastern towns they left. They need a wagon master to lead them. Most of the available wagon masters want to head farther west. Nobody wants to lead a wagon train back east. They do, however, find a drunkard wagon master named Harlow (John Candy) who will lead their train back east.

This comedy western brings Blazzing Saddles to mind. It stars John Candy, Abraham Benrubi, Richard Lewis, John C. McGinley, Jill Boyd and Ellen Green. The movie was released in 1994 and runs 107 minutes.
