All Ranges Closed - Range Clean - Up - 8AM-5PM -- CANCELLED
2019 Clean-up Day Summary
The clean-up day was a success and finished in just under two and a half hours.
Trees and bushes were planted, the berms were repaired, the field was raked, dead vegetation was removed, the plinking berm was repaired, and there were metals targets installed in the plinking range. On May 3rd there were just two large metal gongs. Now there are five large gongs, a small and medium gong, and a set of metal targets that Matt Braesch installed.
Metal Target Guidelines
You should always wear ear and eye protection, especially when shooting metal targets.
Minimum shooting distance for pistol caliber ammunition is 15 yards; this is to protect the shooter.
Minimum shooting distance for rifle caliber ammunition is 100 yards; this is to protect the steel.
No armor piercing ammunition on the metals targets; check your ammunition with the magnets on the 4x4s (see picture below).
If there is damage to the targets, please let the Board know.
The concrete firing line is the designated firing line. If you are down range
playing
practicing with the steel and someone wants to use the 100/200 yard range, you have to stop and return to the concrete firing line; it is not first come, first serve.
